Hiring managers look up salaries every week. Your website has nothing to show them.
The numbers already live in your recruiters' heads. Put a slice of them on the page and the people who need them will tell you who they are.
Working concept below. Pick a role.
Live concept Larkspur Search is a made-up agency and every salary here is sample data. Every control on this sheet works.
Larkspur Search
Sheet 01 · Sample data
What does this role pay right now?
Pick a role, level and city. The range updates as you go, with no button to press.
Senior Software Engineer · New York
- Low
- Median
- High
Sample data. Annual base salary in US dollars, rounded to the nearest $1,000.
Every role Larkspur places, level by level, with the detail this page leaves out.
In a real implementation, this option could trigger a consultant follow-up. This demo does not.
Concept only: no email was sent and nothing was stored.
What the usual agency website costs you
- Your market knowledge never reaches the site. Your recruiters know what a senior engineer costs in Austin this quarter. The website says you find great people, which is what every other agency's says.
- A contact form captures nobody who is just looking. Most hiring managers are just looking, right up until the week they aren't. A form that asks for a brief gets nothing from them.
- The agency with a salary guide gets their email instead. A hiring manager will trade an address for a number they need today. Whoever asked is the agency they remember when the req opens.
Why it's built this way
- Speed
- Three native selects and the maths in a few lines of JavaScript. No chart library: the dimension line is HTML and CSS, so the range moves the moment a pick changes, with nothing to load first.
- Mobile
- Native pickers open the phone's own wheel, which beats any custom dropdown under a thumb. The drawing reflows to the screen and the scale labels thin out so none of them touch. One column, 16px gutters.
- Conversion
- The number comes first. The email ask comes after it, when the visitor already has something from you. The "I'm hiring for this role right now" box sorts the leads a consultant should call today from the ones to keep warm.
Want this for your team?
Thirty minutes. If you'd rather not publish exact figures, the page shows ranges and the guide keeps the detail. Bring your real placement data and I'll show you what the tool looks like with it.
